What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Our Core Beliefs

What we believe about GOD
We believe that God eternally exists and that there is only one God. God has revealed Himself by the name, YAHWEH, or, I AM. While God is One, He is also Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This reality of God is known as Trinity. Each Person of the Godhead is a separate, distinct Personality and yet co-equal in nature, perfection, power, and glory, executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of the redemption of humanity. God is the infinite, all-knowing, almighty, omnipresent, just, merciful, gracious, loving Being, the Creator and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and Earth, inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, trust, love, obedience, service, and worship.
What we believe about THE FATHER
We believe God the Father to be perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power; that He concerns Himself mercifully and lovingly in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer and saves to the uttermost from sin and death all who come to Him by faith through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
What we believe about JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and co-equal with the Father. In humility and according to God’s plan, the Son of God took upon Himself the body of a man by means of the virgin birth. As a man, He lived a sinless life. Willingly, He made Atonement for sin through His sacrificial, substitutional death on the cross. But He did not remain in the grave: As the Scriptures reveal, Jesus Christ bodily rose from the grave on the third day, was seen by and interacted with many people, ascended into Heaven, is making intercession for His people on their behalf, and will return to this earth to establish His earthly physical Kingdom as He promised.
What we believe about HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is the eternal Spirit of God, co-equal with the Father and the Son. He testifies of and glorifies Jesus Christ, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and gives the gift of the new birth (regeneration) to all who receive God’s gift of grace by faith in Christ. Subsequent to and in association with the miracle of regeneration, the Holy Spirit indwells and sets each believer apart for God’s purposes (sanctification) enabling them to grow toward moral and spiritual maturity. He also seals each new believer and places him/her into the Body of Christ, bestowing His spiritual gifts to each person as He sees fit, that the Body may be built up and that Jesus Christ may be glorified. The Spirit of God guides, instructs, comforts, empowers, and fills all true believers who are yielded to His leading and direction.
What we believe about the CHURCH
We believe that the Church is a spiritual organism, a body, whose sole Head is Christ. The Body of Christ is comprised of everyone who has been born anew by the Spirit of God through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. The spiritual Body is expressed locally as followers of Christ voluntarily assemble together because they are called of the Lord into the fellowship of the Gospel. In other words, true Christian faith is lived out in the context of a biblical community of believers and is never meant to be lived out in isolation. A local church is called to serve the Lord in obedience and faith according to God’s Word and to strive for unity in Christ as we commit ourselves to: Christ-exalting worship; the transformational teaching of God’s Word resulting in personal and corporate growth in Christ; commitment to the exercise of spiritual gifts for the service to and building up of the church body; the evangelization of those who are yet lost in their sins and who are in need of Christ’s salvation for their eternal souls through various outreach and missions efforts.
What we believe about ETERNITY:
We believe that the consummation of all things includes the literal, visible, personal, and glorious return of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We believe in the eternal salvation of those who have been born anew by the Spirit of God and their literal, future, eternal home in Heaven. We also believe in the eternal damnation of all nonbelievers and their literal, future, eternal destination in Hell. We realize that these eternal contrasts are serious and difficult for many to accept. Nevertheless, this is the very teaching of Christ Himself, and thereby motivates us to share the good news of Christ’s life-saving Gospel message with all people.
What we believe about the BIBLE
We believe the Bible, the Old and New Testaments, in its entirety, to be the supernaturally written revelation of God and His plan to redeem the sinful human race from the penalty of sin. Because the Bible proceeds from God, it is thereby inerrant and authoritative in all of its instruction, is practical and relevant, and is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, beliefs, and opinions should be tried.
What we believe about GOD’S ARCH-ENEMY
We believe in the person Satan, the author of sin, deceiver and mastermind of mankind’s fall, unholy god of this world and leader of a demonic hierarchy, the open and declared enemy of God, who is destined to the judgement of an eternal justice in the Lake of Fire.
What we believe about HUMANITY and the SINFUL NATURE
We believe that humanity, both male and female, was created by God, in God’s image, without sin and innocent. However, upon exercising God-given free will, in a deliberate act of rebellion against God’s clear command, the first man and woman (Adam and Eve) sinned in their disobedience to a holy, righteous God, thereby plunging the entire human race into a shared sinful nature (depravity), causing both spiritual blindness and separation from God. The extent of this depravity affects and infects every person naturally, morally, mentally, physically, absolutely, and completely so that the Scriptures truthfully declare: “the wages of sin is death!” This sinful nature is manifested in each person’s life; no one is exempt. Consequently, humanity is under justified condemnation and is without excuse before a holy God.
What we believe about the SALVATION OF HUMANITY
We believe that the salvation of human beings is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone, and is in no way attainable by human methods or efforts. Salvation is available to all people. All who turn from their own sinfulness and put their trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are born anew by the power of the Holy Spirit, are recipients of a new nature, are liberated from the penalty of sin, are eternally secure in Christ, and await full and complete sanctification and glorification at the resurrection of the saints in the end times.
What we believe about the CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe that the Church is a spiritual organism, a body, whose sole Head is Christ.
